This firm relied on good bots, so we maintained a whitelist to permit them to reach the application. Our access controls looked for TOR exit nodes and blocked connections to them. As a Layer 7 DDoS mitigation strategy, a custom IP list was created to block specific Azure nodes which were hosting bot attack traffic. Results With the Oracle Dyn solution, the customer could successfully deal with the malicious bot traffic that was a major problem for them and protect their sites.
