Looking at the typical traffic patterns of many websites, this means potentially tens of thousands of visitors leave these sites unsatisfied. But the issues go way beyond unhappy users. In fact, the frequency and length of these disruptions costs these businesses a significant amount in lost revenues. In Figure 3 below, we asked organizations how much a typical minute of downtime costs their business. The number alone is staggering, but when combined with the earlier data on frequency and length of disruption, it gets downright scary. Figure 3: The High Cost of a Minute of Website Downtime
